Foundation Drain Installation & Repair — Perimeter and footing drains that move water away from the foundation.

About Our Foundation Drain Installation & Repair Service

Foundation drains are the plumbing of a dry foundation. A footing or perimeter drain collects the water that saturates the soil around the foundation and carries it away before it can build pressure against the wall or find its way inside. We install new foundation drainage and repair or replace drains that have clogged, collapsed, or simply given out over the years. Much of the water damage we see in Connecticut basements traces back to a failed, missing, or undersized foundation drain — getting that system right is often the difference between a dry basement and a recurring one.

Signs You May Need This

  • Water at the base of the wall or floor joint after rain
  • A known old drain that no longer moves water
  • Wet, boggy soil right against the foundation
  • Sump pump cycling constantly during wet weather

What Causes It

  • No foundation drain on a home that needs one
  • A drain clogged with sediment, roots, or fines
  • A collapsed or crushed drain pipe
  • A drain that daylight-discharges to a low or blocked outlet

How We Approach It

1

Footing drain installation

We install a perforated drain at the footing level, surrounded by clean stone and filter fabric, to capture groundwater and carry it away from the foundation.

2

Perimeter drain (interior)

Where the work is inside, we install a perimeter drain at the cove joint that feeds the sump system.

3

Repair & replacement

Failed drains are cleared, repaired, or replaced, and discharge paths are redirected so water exits well clear of the foundation.

Things to Consider

A foundation drain only works if the outlet is clear and the pipe is at the right elevation. We plan the path water takes from the footing all the way out, not just the pipe in the trench. On repairs, we diagnose whether the drain can be saved or needs replacement before we start digging.

Our Process

1

Diagnose

We check whether a drain exists, its condition, and its outlet.

2

Design

Drain location, pipe, stone, fabric, and discharge are planned.

3

Install or repair

The drain is installed or renewed and connected to a clear outlet.

4

Verify

We confirm water moves through and away from the foundation.
